About LingoReup Grabber

Install

The Chrome Web Store version is awaiting review. Meanwhile, install the manual build with the steps below — it takes about 2 minutes.

Install the manual build

  1. Download the Grabber ZIP file.
    lingoreup-grabber-0.1.1.zip · 321 KB

    File SHA-256: 6fd5e8cc30c67ff657195d6ce27f0c6f5de0c86d70bc5e4fe1a09ab8114c1a76

  2. Unzip it into a permanent folder, for example Documents/LingoReup Grabber. Don't delete or move this folder after installing — Chrome runs the extension from it.
  3. Open chrome://extensions in the address bar.
  4. Turn on "Developer mode" in the top-right corner.
  5. Click "Load unpacked".
  6. Select the folder you unzipped (the one containing manifest.json).
  7. Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin LingoReup Grabber so it is always visible.

How to use

  1. Open a page with a video (Douyin, TikTok, Bilibili, Instagram…).
  2. Click the LingoReup Grabber icon or press Alt+L. A side panel opens next to the page.
  3. The panel lists the videos it found: title, author, duration and qualities.
  4. Pick a quality and click Download. Follow progress in the Downloads tab — cancel or retry each video.
  5. After downloading, Grabber checks that the file has video, has audio and runs the full length before saving it.

Send to LingoReup

Click the send button next to Download to move the video into the LingoReup desktop app, then translate, dub or subtitle it there.

  • Requires LingoReup 0.7.1 or later, open and signed in.
  • If the app isn't installed, Grabber opens the LingoReup download page for you.

Update the manual build

The manual build does not update itself. When a new version ships:

  1. Download the new ZIP file.
  2. Unzip it and overwrite the folder you installed from before.
  3. Open chrome://extensions and click the reload button (↻) on the LingoReup Grabber card.

Latest version: v0.1.1.
