Privacy Policy — LingoReup Grabber

LingoReup Grabber is a Chrome extension that saves the video you are watching in your browser, or sends it to the LingoReup desktop app. This policy covers the extension only. The LingoReup website and app follow the general Privacy Policy at lingoreup.com/privacy.
1. What the extension processes
To list and download videos, the extension reads, on the tab you are viewing: (a) the page address and title; (b) video information already on the page, such as title, author, duration, cover image and stream address; (c) network requests carrying video (m3u8, mpd, mp4) that the page loads. All of it is processed inside your browser and used only to list and download videos.
2. We do not collect your data
The extension has no server. We do not collect, store, sell or share any of your data: no browsing history, no personal information, no passwords or cookies, no usage analytics, no ads. When you download a video, your browser requests it directly from the platform hosting it, just as when you watch it.
3. Data kept on your device
The extension stores only on your own device: (a) settings such as quality, save folder and interface language; (b) a list of recent downloads; (c) temporary files while a video is being assembled, deleted right after saving. Finished videos go to your Downloads folder. Removing the extension deletes all of its data.
4. Send to LingoReup
Only when you click "Send to LingoReup" does the extension send the video's address and title to the LingoReup app running on your own computer, via the local address 127.0.0.1. This never crosses the Internet. If the app is not installed, the extension opens lingoreup.com/download so you can get it. Once the app receives the video, LingoReup's general Privacy Policy applies.
5. Extension permissions
The extension uses only the Chrome permissions needed for the purpose above: reading the page and its network requests to detect videos; adding Referer/Origin headers to the extension's own video download requests; saving files to Downloads; storing settings; showing the side panel. The extension does not load or run remote code.
6. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If the way the extension handles data changes, we will say so in the extension's release notes before it takes effect.
